My rating: 5.5/10

Ludicrous.  It's style over moderate substance. If I didn't know better I'd say this was camp but everyone was taking it too seriously and it's a M:I film, not a NAKED GUN picture.  I was laughing a lot so in that way it was entertaining.  The story was OK but most of the film took place in Sydney, Australia, one location.  What's worse, Sydney, from what I've ever seen of it in movies and such, is a beautiful city.  Plus you've got all of freakin' Australia to do something with.  Geographically it's an interesting as fuck country.  Then you've got the extraordinary amount of time it takes Ethan (Cruise) to find and woo Nyah (Newton) for the gig.  Wait, he goes through this process to pick someone for his team?  Did I miss something here?  Isn't he a top notch spy?  Why wouldn't he pick someone he knew, worked with previously and completely trusted?  PLUS he's got very little time to get on the case. I was beside myself.  Then there's the bomb at the end with the dove flying through the flaming door in slow motion, Ethan driving a motorcycle and firing behind him by using his side mirror which couldn't possible aid him in aiming since it's way off placement for that to even happen.  The last twenty minutes had me chuckling all over the place.  The first and previous time I saw this was in 2000 in the theater and I only wanted to see it because John Woo directed it.  Ugh.  After disliking this picture and the previous film (I re-watched M:I 1 recently and liked it a lot more than before) I was completely turned off of seeing the third one.  I'll get around to seeing that one soon.  Here's yet another Blu-ray that's going into the garage sale pile.  Someone's going to pick up some sweet deals in a few weeks.
