Tagline: Once... they made history. Now... they are history.

Plot: The world of our distant future is a veritable utopia, thanks to the lyrics of two simple-minded 20th Century rock and rollers, Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan. However, a would-be conqueror threatens to throw history off-track by sending "most non-non-heinous" evil robot Bill and Teds back to kill their good counterparts. Finding themselves dead, the boys must outwit the Grim Reaper and traverse Heaven and Hell to return to the land of the living, rescue their "babes" and have a "most triumphant" concert at the all-important Battle of the Bands.

My rating: 5.5/10

Will I watch it again?  No.

BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE (1989) was cute and fun for a while but it ultimately suffered from pacing issues. This one has the same problem except it drags in more spots and it's not as funny.  It does have its moments.  Playing Battleship with the Grim Reaper ala THE SEVENTH SEAL (1957) was hilarious and the first ten minutes were creative and fun but the rest has only the occasional laugh which wasn't near enough to sustain this weaker sequel.  I dug the boys going to the location where the famous STAR TREK: OS episode "The Arena" was filmed.  That was neat-o.  It's been rumored recently that there's a third film in the works.  I'd probably go see it.
