My rating: 7/10

Will I watch it again? No.

I remember watching this in the theater thirty years ago.  It impressed me but I must have been distracted or something.  Maybe it was the night some pervert put his hand on my 12 year old knee.  Regardless, I never watched it again until now.  It's a good flick.  The puppetry effects are great and Trevor Jones provides a great score but it's the 'not just for adults' part that I wasn't digging on.  You know, the cute pets and shit.  Everything else was pretty damn good.  I was at the right age when I saw it thirty years ago so it should be more fun for me now but it's not.  I reckon it's just not for me. Below is the darker, director's cut.  I hear it's better but I'm not going to watch.  I watched the theatrical version and I'm just not that interested enough to see it again.  But I'll watch hundreds of stupid pieces of shit instead.
