My rating: 7.5/10

Will I watch it again? Sure.

I don't know.  Maybe it's the characters or maybe it's that Hemsworth doesn't have an awful lot of charisma or shit, maybe it's Maybelline. There's something about the Thor movies that doesn't grab me by the short and curlies like the other Marvel pictures do.  This one is better than THOR (2011).  I like the stuff that doesn't happen on Earth more.  I don't get how Thor and Jane Foster (Portman) are madly in love.  I haven't seen enough chemistry between the two to see or feel it.  It could just be the actors.  This film is filled with one liners that sound like the writers were proud of but the quality isn't quite there. It's like being proud of your kid for doing something average that about half of the other kids are doing, too.  Eccleston is more over the top than the previous films although I enjoyed his character most of all.  The best laugh came from a cameo from a certain someone that Loki provided.  I fucking loved it.  It also reminded me that I dig that cameo guy's character a lot more than Thor and I can't wait for his next movie to come out.  Like all of the Marvel films there is a tag at the very end of the credits but this one is the lamest.  After watching the film and discussing it with a friend I still couldn't figure out what it is about this particular franchise that keeps me from loving it.  Thor worked great in THE AVENGERS (2012) so perhaps I dig Thor in small doses.  Either way, the Thor movies aren't bad films, they just aren't as great as the other Marvel franchises.  But I'm sure there will be a third Thor movie and my butt will be in a theater seat to check it out and I'm sure I'll eventually own the Blu-ray.  Maybe it'll improve on a second viewing.
