When he emerges from the hypnotic trance he is horrified to find evidence that the brutal murder depicted in the game actually happened -- and he's the killer.

My rating: 5.5/10

Will I watch it again? No.

I think I had higher hopes for this considering Frank Langella is in this.  His role is pretty thankless as a never-smiles detective assigned to the murders and he does fine.  Furlong's acting hadn't improved much since TERMINATOR 2 (1991).  Ugh.  He's OK I suppose until he attempts to do rage or big emotion and that's when his lack of experience rears its ugly head.  Barring that it's a decent teen horror flick with an interesting premise.  If you think about it just a little after the shit hits the fan, you might just figure it out.  I wasn't trying; it just happened.  Nice four-note theme by George S. Clinton.  It's an interesting concept that, in the right hands, could be remade into a really good thriller.
