More info: IMDb

Tagline: The Fastest Dragsters... The Wildest Women... And A Driver Who Had To Have Them Both!

Plot: A son highly interested in drag racing convinces his wealthy father to build the finest racer made for him to compete professionally. Once he has it he starts to feel the weight of his father's pressure and sets out to make it on his own without his father's help. Along the way to the biggest race at the end of the year he learns a valuable lesson.

My rating: 3/10

Will I watch it again? Nooop.

#10 on 42nd Street Forever Vol. 2: The Deuce (part of the TRAILER TRASH PROJECT)

If you're really into drag racing, specifically drag racing from the 1970s, this is probably porn to you. There's a thin plot that's a retread of a gazillion movies before it and a gazillion movies after it. It's just an excuse to insert a lot of racing that lasts only a few seconds per race. I can't tell you how incredibly exciting it is because it isn't. BURNOUT is boring and the title writes its own jokes. It doesn't work because of the weak plot, gratuitous racing or the non-traditional, regular folk actors. I've seen lots of movies that have these things which work in their favor and end up being really fun. BURNOUT's problem is it's just not interesting...at...all.
