Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning (1985)

Director: Danny Steinmann

Staring: Melanie Kinnaman, John Shepherd, Shavar Ross, Richard Young, Marco St. John

More info: IMDb

Tagline: A New Beginning to the first step in terror

Plot: Having landed in a mental hospital after "killing" Jason in The Final Chapter, an older Tommy is released to a halfway house populated by the usual maladjusted teens. Then, surprise, the grisly murders begin anew. Has the homicidal hockey goalie returned from the dead, or is Tommy turning into Jason himself?

My rating: 4.5/10

Will I watch it again? Nah.

This is the worst of them so far. Why? Two things: the dumb "comic relief" characters like this shit kicker...

and the ending. It's a cheat. If they had gone in the direction I was hoping for, it would have at least shown some continuing growth in the series. OK, so the is something I can live with but it's the bad acting from the secondary cast and the ill attempts at humor that bugged me most. At least this guy buys it early on...

Oooops. Spoiler alert. There's barely any nudity this time out but the kills are better than Part 4.

Guy Pierce should've played Tommy instead of this guy...

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come with parts 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and whatever's next. That's going to be a lot of shit to wade through.
